Footwork and Control
The objective of this drill is to improve the speed of movement using quick footwork and reactions and then using different ways of controlling the ball.
You will need a partner (parent/guardian or friend) along with four cones and a ball.
We start with 4 different coloured cones set up in a square. One player is in the centre of the cones and one person (the server) is outside the cones ready to throw the ball in. As the server throws the ball in they call out a coloured cone. The person in the middle steps back or forwards toward the cone and returns to the centre. The player then controls the ball using different parts of the foot and body and returns it to the server.
Make it harder by starting to use every part of the body.
